One Day Tour to Explore Old Streets in Chengdu

Chengdu is a city with old history, there are three famous old streets in Chengdu, Kuanzhai alley, Jinli street and Wenshu Fang street. The 3 streets have different architecture styles that presenting different periods of traditional Chinese buildings.

9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Meet your guide and driver and go to Wenshu Fang street

Your guide will meet you at 9:00 a.m. at your hotel lobby. Then you will go visit the Wenshu Fang street. After walking into the street, you will see a temple gate which is thousand years old, that is the most famous monastery in Chengdu - Wenshu Monastery. Visit the monastery and then walk around on the Wenshu Fang streets. Wenshu Fang street is renovated from an old block filling with “zen” atmosphere. And if you like to try local food, this is the best place to go. A small restate named Haozidong doing their family business here for more than half century, all the staff here are members of this big family and they have inherited the oldest way to cook, the original taste of Sichuan cuisine.

11:30 - 13:00 p.m. Have your lunch

You can tell your guide what do you want for lunch then, the local food or some special food. Chengdu is a city not only famous for Panda, it is also a food lover’s city.

13:30 p.m. - 15:30 p.m. Visit the Jinli Street and the Wuhou Temple

It’s a time for another very famous history of China - Three Kingdoms. Chengdu was the capital of one of the three kingdoms - Shu Kingdom. The Wuhou Temple is a memorial temple for the king - Liubei and his followers. Beautiful Chinese writing, painting and also gardening can be found in this temple. The Jinli street besides this temple is a place with all the traditional Chinese features. You will find yourself crossing into that age with knights, swords and horses. And there is a Starbucks here of course.

15:30 p.m. - 17:30 p.m. Kuanzhai Alley (Wide & Narrow Alley)

Kuanzhai Alley was build on 1718AD by the Man Minority after they conquered most land in China. This alley was build for the officers and riches of Qing Dynasty. That makes this place a different architecture style than other streets. After the renovation on 2008, this street become a better place to go to feel this part of Chinese history and become a street mixed with tradition and modern.

17:30 p.m. - 18:00 p.m. Back to your hotel.
