When winter comes to Jiuzhaigou
It is said that when the winter comes, Jiuzhaigou park will become a very cold, white, dead land. But is it true? We spent a week in Jiuzhaigou, and it turned out amazing!
Jan 16th, we drive north from Chengdu, passing Dujiangyan, Wenchuan, Maoxian and Songpan. Arrive Jiuzhaigou at 5pm, it is 5C degree in Jiuzhaigou, not as cold as we think, after a welcome dinner at the cosy 5 star hotel, we get back to our room and get ready for the 4 days shooting in the park.
The waterfalls in the park became ice fall, reflecting light and shadow never seen in the other season.
With slow shutter and little bit help from the sun, easy to get a perfect picture!
The Five Colored Lake (五花海) is still very blue, the water is high, perfect for shooting reflection when there is no wind.
That’s the mirror lake, most famous place for reflection, we had to reach this place before 0830, the wind pick up after that.
The Five colored pond is on the end of the park, after you see the fully frozen Long Lake, you will be guiding to this place. We had a little snow fall in the morning, making the pond even more beautiful.
Pearl Beach Waterfall, it is about 200 meter wide!
Tiger Lake water fall, the ice is starting to melt down.
After 4 days in the park, everyone had enjoyed themselves for the wonderful scenery and everyone had get their dream pictures. This picture was taken on the way back, this place is Ganhaizi Wetland.
We stop over at Dujiangyan old street, luckily, it started to snow on the streets, exciting! What a perfect end of our winter Jiuzhaigou trip~ We will definitely come back next year~
